Condensation on ductwork, pipes, insulation, wood framing, and the walls is a common problem in a vented crawlspace. Condensation occurs when humid, summer air is vented into the cooler air of the crawlspace. This cooler air cannot hold this excessive humidity, so it gives up its moisture in the form of a liquid on all of the cooler surfaces of the crawlspace (ducts, pipes, etc.).
